At Dance Factory we take dress code very seriously. Students in violation of dress code will receive a written warning. A second warning in any calendar month will result in “Benching” for that class.

Ballet

  • Dance Factory Black Leotard*
  • Pink Tights
  • Pink Ballet Shoes (with elastics sewn in)
  • Hair in a slicked back bun secured with hair net,
    elastic, and pins
  • Baltogs ballet bras may be purchased on line if needed.
  • Regular bras are not permitted under leotards.

Jazz

Students may wear any combination of black that they choose for class. Leotards, tights, jazz pants, or jazz capris are all acceptable. All Black. No shorts. Gore boots are highly recommended for jazz class.

Tap

Students must wear dance attire. Tap shoes required.

Hip-Hop (male and female)

  • Tennis shoes/sneakers/jazz sneakers (no soft jazz
    shoes, gore boots etc.)
  • Knee pads if necessary
  • Hair must be pulled back off the face.
  • Pants worn to class must be worn over the knee.
  • T-shirts/ thick strapped shirts only.
  • NO shorts or jeans.

Pre–Class (Mini Combo)

  • Black Leotard (any style)
  • Pink Tights
  • Pink Ballet Shoes
  • Black Tap Shoes

Boys (Ballet and Jazz)

  • Black or white fitted T-shirt
  • Black pants or shorts (see teacher)
  • Black dance shoes

Wow! It’s easy and it’s cheap. Discount Dance Supply has a new program called
“For Teachers.”
This program enables teachers to post required or recommended items for their students on their web site. Fortunately for us, they stock our brand and style of required Dance Factory leotards.

Currently, our ballet basics are available for order on line as well as optional jazz items, shoes, dance bags, books, etc.

Just follow these steps:

1. Log onto www.discountdance.com

2. Click on “ 4Teachers”

3. Under ‘students’, enter the code 466 for your teacher ID. This will bring up our studio.

4. Choose your desired category (ballet basics, jazz, etc.)

5. Select your items and place your order.
